SE's official email affirming the Kaitaishinsho and Star Gazing guides
The Kaitaishinsho was introduced as the first book in the Final Fantasy Ultimania series
Star Gazing comes from Final Fantasy VII Ultimania Omega
Final Fantasy VII Ultimania Omega contains "The Girl Who Travels the Stars". It is an officially supervised book.
The Remake Ultimania says the Kaitaishinsho was a predecessor of the Final Fantasy Ultimania series
The FF Kaitaishinsho, released in 1997 on the Famitsu platform, was the first book our company Studio BentStuff(specializing in planning, editing, and producing video game-related books)made based on a Square (as it was then) RPG. With the conviction of "creating a book unlike any before it," we brought all kinds of ideas together, and thanks to everyone, many people have read this book—it remains deeply memorable to this day.
As time passed, the Kaitaishinsho became what I named "Ultimania", and its publisher was transferred to Square Enix.
