The water's surface symbolizes Aerith
In scene 09-02, there is a scene where: Zack stands on the water's surface, looking up at white feathers drifting across the blue sky. When asked about the developers' intent regarding the direction of this scene, the answer given was: "Zack inherited Angeal's will, yet he could not even save anyone, and was trapped in Nibelheim, which left him feeling despair and helplessness. When Angeal rebuked him for this state that was unbearable to watch, Zack resolved to pull himself together. This resolve is reflected in the mindscape at the beginning of Chapter 9.
The blue sky symbolizes Zack, the white feathers symbolize Angeal, and the water's surface symbolizes Aerith。
The blue sky used as a symbol in CC represents Zack, the ideal First Class SOLDIER in FF7. It is an image of Zack at his best, in perfect condition. Viewed from another angle, it also symbolizes ideals, goals, and dreams.
The "white feather" is a symbol of Angeal, and also a symbol of "wings." Angeal's wings are wings spanning the blue sky, and this image suggests that for Angeal to reach his heights and dreams, he must overcome many hardships.
The "water surface" reflecting the "blue sky" symbolizes Aerith. When Aerith hears the voice of the Planet, it is interpreted as her entering the Lifestream, so the image of Aerith's consciousness passing through the water surface evokes the Lifestream. Alternatively, it is itself a symbol of the Lifestream, a kind of will of the Planet。
Through these three connections, it hints at the entire story.

Official website introduction
A mysterious girl living in Midgar. While tending to flowers in a church in the slums, she had a fateful encounter with Zack.

Aerith who gives tenderness
I chose Cissnei as a character who could encourage Zack, who had become somewhat dejected after going through various events, and tell him "you are not alone." Cissnei herself also feels loneliness, and suffers from prioritizing missions, but even at such times she never forgets how to view things with kindness and tenderness. In the story, those who only kill (laugh), and Aerith, who handles the softer parts of the story, never leaves the slums, so I portrayed her as a character who moves about freely and can offer gentle words.
