The strange relationship with the Turks

Aerith, who was kept in confinement in the Shinra Building from childhood, was watched by Shinra constantly even after escaping to the slums. The Turks were in charge of this surveillance, and their leader was a familiar face for over ten years. Other members of the Turks would also occasionally visit the house, and Aerith came to know their characters well enough to understand their personalities.

Watching over her since childhood

A calm and composed man who serves as director of the Investigation Sector of the General Affairs Department, the "Turks." A veteran who has been active on the front lines since his youth, he now rarely takes to the field himself, instead commanding distinctive subordinates like Reno and Rude. His surveillance and protection of Aerith goes back a long way; he has watched over her since she was a child.

Pretending not to notice, Tseng finds Aerith amusing

Aerith stands up and looks back at Tseng challengingly. She smiles, feigning composure.
[Aerith]: I'd like to... make a deal?
Tseng's eyes narrow to slits, amused by Aerith's bravado. He silently steps aside and opens the door. Tseng politely places his hand on the door and opens it, showing them out.
[Aerith]: ... As Tseng passes by, Aerith's face twists slightly with sadness. Tseng gazes into the distance, pretending not to notice, his expression as impassive as ever. Aerith and Marlene walk hand in hand from the shop's stairs toward Tseng's helicopter. The Shinra emblem on the helicopter reflects the flames flickering in the slums.
